Soundtrack : DJ Mean Dean

DJ Mean Dean (Dean Young) is actually a nice guy. 15 years in the game and he can rock any party. He is equally passionate for sound quality as well as musical programming. As General Manager of Audio Rescue Team, he is known for his extended sound checks. When a Detroit party sounds good, Dean and his cohorts from Audio Rescue Team are the ones to thank. Most recent accomplishment includes the third year of his Mean Dean Winter Welcome To Wednesday Tour.

On being a Detroit DJ
“Detroit is the quintessential culmination of American culture. Sports, music, history, socioeconomic inequality, we’ve got it all, and there is no shortage of DJs. The special part about being a DJ for me is the juxtaposition, putting two things together to create that ‘new’ third thing. Sometimes it’s a transition or a mashup, sometimes it’s an energy, a feeling, a certain kind of magic. I think the indicator of a ‘good DJ’ is intentions. If your in it to share your craft, it shows. If your in it for money or fame, it shows too. Either way, just keep it out of the red #MixerPolice”
